
2025 Garden Buzz: The Celebration of Pollinators
Tuesday, June 17
12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate National Pollinator Week with this free, family-friendly event showcasing the importance of pollinators in our world. Attendees will enjoy a guided garden tour, hands-on workshops, arts and crafts, honey tastings, and educational booths from local organizations such as the Jackson Area Beekeepers Association and Madison County Master Gardeners.
Attendees will also receive free plants to add to their garden while supplies last!

2025 Weed Tour
Wednesday, June 18
8:30 a.m.
Attendees will explore more than 40 weed management trials in cotton, corn, and soybeans to learn control strategies for plant pests such as horseweed, ryegrass, Palmer amaranth, and more. Demonstrations will include a John Deere See & Spray™ system, which uses machine learning to apply herbicides more precisely, reducing chemical waste. There is no cost to attend, and pesticide points will be available.

2025 Summer Celebration
Thursday, July 10
8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
One of West Tennessee’s biggest events returns after transitioning to a biennial schedule! For the first time since 2023, we are excited to once again offer educational lectures, wagon and garden tours, hands-on workshops, vendors, food trucks, cooking demonstrations, crafts, our highly anticipated plant sale, and much more.
2025 presentation topics include gardening, lawn care, forestry management, pest control, landscape design, the importance of pollinators, and more. There is no cost to attend, so bring your whole family and enjoy this community celebration of the natural world!

2025 Soybean Scout School

Learn the basics of soybean growth, identification, scouting, pest control, and general management, courtesy of UTIA Extension specialists and researchers. Pesticide points are available, as well as a free sweep net and notebook while supplies last.
The event is sponsored by the Tennessee Soybean Promotion Board. More information will be provided closer to the event date.

2025 Cotton Tour
Wednesday, September 10
8 a.m. – Noon
Explore on-site cotton research plots during this free annual field day. Attendees will gain valuable insight into various aspects of crop production, including ThryvOn cotton, variety testing, cover crops, irrigation, nutrient management, disease treatment, weed and insect control, and more. Certified Crop Adviser and pesticide recertification points are available, as well as a complimentary lunch at the end of the tour.

2025 Fall in the Gardens

Join UT Gardens, Jackson for this free, family-friendly gardening event!
On Thursday, attendees will enjoy presentations from guest lecturers, guided garden tours, demonstrations by Madison County Master Gardeners, wagon tours of the Center, local vendors, food trucks, and the beginning of the fall plant sale with hundreds of varieties of plants available for purchase. The second day of the event will feature the fall plant sale only.

Shop hundreds of hand-selected amaryllis bulbs shipped directly from Holland! These plants make an excellent addition to your home or to be given as gifts this holiday season. Plants from the fall plant sale will also be available for purchase.
All proceeds from the sale benefit the upkeep of UT Gardens, Jackson and their ongoing mission to provide hundreds of varieties of plants for public enjoyment, community education, and horticultural research.
